Can carers administer medication?
Yes. Where it is part of your care plan, trained carers can administer medication as prescribed and keep accurate records. The level of support is agreed at your care assessment.
What is the difference between prompting and administering?
Prompting means reminding you to take medication that you then manage yourself. Administering means the carer selects and gives the medication to you in line with the prescription. Your care plan sets out which applies.
